Privacy Policy

01Introduction

InWebEdit is a live website editor. We built it with a privacy-first approach: editing happens in your browser, history lives on your device, and exports stay with you. This policy explains the limited data we handle and how.

What we handle

Ephemeral = processed in memory only, never written to disk by this app. Stored = persisted on your device or by a third-party service.

Website content

Ephemeral

The HTML, CSS, and JavaScript of pages you visit are loaded into WebView memory so you can browse and edit them. The app never writes raw page content to disk.

In WebView RAM only — discarded when the page closes

Page edits

Ephemeral

Text changes, image swaps, and formatting you apply exist in WebView memory. They are not persisted unless you explicitly export them.

In WebView RAM only — discarded unless exported

Browsing history

Stored

The URLs, page titles, favicons, and timestamps of sites you visit are stored locally on your device in app storage. This data is never sent to our servers.

Persisted in app storage on your device

Exported files

Stored

Screenshots, PDFs, HTML files, and text extracts you create are saved to your device storage. We do not receive, upload, or retain copies of your exports.

Saved to device storage

Advertising identifiers

Stored

The free version uses Google AdMob. AdMob processes your device's advertising ID to serve and measure ads. Pro removes all ads.

Processed and stored by Google AdMob per Google's privacy policy

Purchase status

Stored

We use RevenueCat to verify and restore your Pro subscription. RevenueCat receives your store account ID but not your payment or card details.

Stored by RevenueCat and locally cached on device

Crash diagnostics

Stored

Anonymous crash reports and technical diagnostics (OS version, device type, app version) may be collected to help us identify and fix bugs.

Sent to and stored by our crash reporting service

Backend configuration (optional, Pro)

Stored

If you configure a backend URL or API key in Settings, those credentials are stored locally on your device and sent only to the endpoint you specify.

Persisted in app storage on your device

How information is used

  • To load, display, and allow you to edit websites you navigate to
  • To save your browsing history and exported files locally on your device
  • To process, verify, and restore Pro purchases and subscriptions
  • To show ads in the free version (completely removed by Pro)
  • To diagnose crashes and improve app reliability
  • To send edited page content to your own configured backend (only if you choose to)

What we do not collect

  • We do not collect, upload, or store the content of websites you browse
  • We do not read, copy, or upload the text you type or edits you make
  • We do not retain copies of your screenshots, PDFs, or HTML exports
  • We do not require an account and do not collect your name or email address
  • We do not sell or share your data with third parties for marketing purposes

Third-party services

We use a small number of trusted services to operate InWebEdit. Each processes only the data necessary to perform its specific function.

Google AdMobRevenueCatGoogle Play Billinghtml2canvas (client-side only)

html2canvas runs entirely client-side within the WebView and does not transmit any data externally. RevenueCat and Google Play Billing handle subscription verification; neither service receives payment card information. Google AdMob operates under Google's privacy policy; upgrading to Pro disables it entirely.

Your rights & choices

Access & portability

Your history and exports are stored on your device. You can access, copy, or share them at any time directly from the app.

Deletion

Delete individual history entries or exports from within the app at any time. Uninstalling the app removes all locally stored data from your device.

Advertising opt-out

You can reset or opt out of interest-based advertising through your device's system settings. Upgrading to Pro removes all ads entirely.

Permissions

Camera and photo-library permissions are used only when you explicitly choose to swap an image. You can revoke them at any time in your device's system settings.

Children's privacy

InWebEdit is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at admin@abelarai.com and we will delete it promptly.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy to reflect changes to our practices or applicable law. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of InWebEdit after a revision constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
